Vonyea and Jeff’s engagement shoot was to die for. I always wanted to capture a beautiful couple in their essence, and boy, they did not disappoint. They both came looking like the next Michelle and Barack. It was terrific to see them in person after Zoom calls, multiple emails, and phone calls. They came smiling ear to ear, ready to get it going!

We first started in the back of the Second Bank of the United States Portrait Gallery. It had beautiful tall white pillars, and it was a nice, hidden gem. I know most Wedding Photographers take photos at the First Bank of the United States, but people should check this out as an alternate option that is less busy. The sun was bouncing off the pillars, and I started shooting using standard poses (this is why an engagement shoot is so important for a couple and a Wedding Photographer.) I wanted the couple to get comfortable with me in front of the camera. After the first round of standard photos, it was time to let the couple take over, so I would put them in certain angles and spots and let them flow with their love. Doing this captures some of my favorite shots I have ever taken. Vonyea and Jeff made the shoot so much fun; after they became comfortable, we captured timeless magazine-style photos.

We later moved to Renaissance Hotel and captured some breathtaking photos by the bar and in the elevator. We wanted to portray a meet at the bar that then goes to kissing in the elevator. The shot was incredible! I can’t wait to capture their wedding next year.
